Overview
The ECDL establishes a standard for everyone who uses a computer in either a professional or personal capacity. IT is a certificate that verifies competence in computer use, making the holder readily mobile within Ireland and Internationally. Employers and job seekers all agree on the importance of this?standard definition of practical competence in Information Technology.
The ECDL syllabus describes the knowledge and the skills required to achieve the ECDL standard. It covers basic computer skills and the use of common applications an the workplace, the home and in society in general. It is divided into seven modules, 6 practical and 1 theoretical. A test in each module must be passed before the ECDL is awarded.
Suitability
The ECDL course is ideal for those who have completed E-Citizen or who already use a PC on a daily basis in their work/home activities and for those wishing to enhance their CV with an internationally recognised certificate.

Module 2 – Using the computer and Managing Files
Module 3 – Word Processing
Module 4 – Spreadsheets
Module 5 – Database/Filing Systems
Module 6 – Presentation
Module 7 – Information Network Services (Internet & E-mail)

Schedule
3?hour classes for?8 consecutive weeks 6.30-9.30pm. Classes will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
