Dr Paula Martin ( MICGP) is a General Practitioner, living and working in Co Sligo. Paula is the Founding Director of Beo – Centre for Mindfulness & Integrative Health. Paula is passionate in integrating Mind Body approaches into modern medicine. She has a strong personal practice of meditation for over 17 years and is a qualified yoga instructor. Through her practice Paula discovered the many transformative and healing benefits of mindfulness and sought to share this.
In 2010, Paula began training formally in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at The Centre for Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare and Society at The University of Massachusetts Medical School. She is now a formally certified instructor. Paula also completed a one year Postgraduate training in Mindfulness Based Approaches at The Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, Bangor University, Wales. Paula’s personal meditation practice is supported by the teachings of the Insight Meditation Society, and she has had at the gift of several extended silent retreats in recent years. Dance has always been an important part of Paula’s path, leading her to teach and encourage a very embodied practice of mindfulness. In 2017 Paula completed her training as an Open Floor Mindful Movement Teacher.
Paula loves spending time in the outdoors and is never far from the sea. She currently practices Integrated Health in Sligo Town.
