Engineers Week: Triangles, Triangles and more Triangles

Have you ever heard of a Geodesic Dome? Well..  During this years Engineers Week at the Dock we would like to explore some of the shapes, designs, techniques and constructions that Buckminster Fuller introduced to the wider world. Together with Leo Scarff and Stuart Lawn from the FabLab in Manorhamilton you would make wonderful geometric constructions like the geodesic structure or the geodesic dome.  You can join us for our Family day of if you would like to come with a school or class let us know and we would only be too delighted to tellyou what we have in store. The FabLabs lasercut geodesic kits will be available to buy on the day just in case you want to bring home as well. The Geodesic Dome was made famous by Richard Buckminster Fuller who was a 20th century inventor, practical philosopher, visionary and worked as a designer, scientist and sought to solve global problems. Fulle’s designs, ideas and work continues to encouragement new generations of designers, engineers, archibtects, scientists and artist to create a sustainable planet.
