Leitrim council spends €109,000 on legal fees in 2018

Leitrim County Council paid or accrued legal fees of more than €109,000 last year.

Details released under the Freedom of Information Act show almost half of this amount – more than €54,000 – was paid to Longford firm EC Gearty and Company Solicitors.

Fees of almost €23,000 were due to Conleth Bradley, a senior counsel, while eight other lawyers were paid between €1,000 and €17,000.

Mohill-based Sinn Féin councillor Séadhna Logan has been reacting to the news.
