The new Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council Enda McGloin says he sees his role as trying to facilitate co-operation between various groups to resolve issues like once-off housing and afforestation.
The Fine Gael Councillor who has worked full time with the party for the past number of years has just be re-elected onto Leitrim council having lost his seat in 2014.
Enda Mc Gloin was elected as Cathaoirleach of the council at its Annual General Meeting earlier today as part of a power-sharing agreement with Fianna Fail.
He says that having spent the past several weeks on the doorsteps, all of the councillors members are very aware that once-off housing and forestry are two of the main issues of concern people who live the county.
