Newly elected councillor Ita Reynolds Flynn is calling for a second respite care home for high dependency special needs people living in south Leitrim.
At present, the county has just one home in Tullahan which operate five days a week.
Councillor Reynolds Flynn is a member of Leitrim Association of People with Disabilities and believes one unit in the north of the county just isn’t enough.
Speaking at a Leitrim County Council yesterday morning, Cllr Reynolds Flynn said it’s important for people with intellectual disabilities to live in their community and a special unit nearby would facilitate that
