There are calls for clearer signage at taxi areas in Carrick-on-Shannon to make sure they’re available for taxis when they’re needed.
The issue was raised at this week’s meeting of Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District by Councillor Finola Armstrong-Maguire.
She says that some parking spaces are reserved for taxis on a 24 hour basis, but some spaces allow for public parking during the day as well.
The Fine Gael councillor says that with these signs being on the ground, some people have been confused and have parked in the taxi areas causing problems for the taxi drivers…
