The Alcohol Forum is calling for greater recognition of alcohol misuse as a children’s rights issue.
The topic will be discussed at a seminar at the Bush Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon by a number of experts and academics.
According to the organisation, a growing body of international and national evidence indicates children in homes affected by alcohol misuse often live chaotic and unsafe lives.
Presentations will also be made by a number of people who have been directly impacted by the effects of the harmful use of alcohol.
Issues that will be highlighted include raising a child with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, as well as emotional and behavioural disorders.
