A county Leitrim hurler has called Turkey’s bombardment of Kurds in Northern Syria “a disgrace”.
Turkey stepped up its attacks against Kurdish forces yesterday, as two key border towns in the so-called safe zone were shelled from across the Turkish border, causing 60,000 civilians to flee.
Kurdish leaders in Syria have now called on the international community to intervene over fears of another “humanitarian catastrophe”.
Zak Moradi, who is of Kurdish-Iranian descent, believes what’s happening is the ethnic cleansing of Kurdish people.
