Independent Marian Harkin is the second candidate to be elected in Sligo-Leitrim.
She joins Sinn Féin’s Martin Kenny in the 33rd Dáil and was elected on the 14th count.
Fine Gael’s Thomas Walsh was eliminated in the 14th count, and his 5,975 will now be transferred in the next count.
Fianna Fáil’s Marc MacSharry and Eamon Scanlon, and Fine Gael’s Frank Feighan are still in the running for the remaining two seats.
Marc MacSharry is well-placed to win a seat, and it is thought Frank Feighan will pick up enough transfers to win the last seat.
